Held at the intersection of 900 South and 900 East in Salt Lake City, the 9th and 9th Street Festival has become annual event where everyone from the city converges to enjoy food, fun and music.
This years event will be held all day on September 17th, 2011 and promises to be better than ever with an amazing line-up of performers and an eclectic mix of local artists, purveyors of fine foods and delights for both children and adults!
Sponsored by the East Liberty Community Council, the 9th and 9th Street Festival was conceived as a way to bring neighbors together in what has quickly become one of the city’s most unique, eclectic and desirable neighborhoods. This is a celebration of a neighborhood put on by neighbors. Its free, its fun, bring the dog, the kids, the stroller and come on down to join the fun. We invite musicians, dancers, artists and crafters to make the day.

Chad Gourley Sharing His Music
We are excited to Have Chad Gourley join us for the festival this year. Chad will be sharing his music throughout the day and throughout the festival. Not on the stage, but on the festival grounds. Stick around and hear him play! You won’t want to miss it!
Chad Gourley is a singer/songwriter from the Salt Lake City UT area. With influences like Taking Back Sunday, Ben Folds, Dashboard Confessional and John Mayor, Chad has been sharing his love of music in local venues, bars, and coffee shops for over 7 years. He recently released his first solo EP, featuring acoustic based songwriting with melodic melodies that will inevitably get stuck in your head.

Michael Wine Live On Stage from 1-2pm!
From 1-2pm Michael Wine will be joining us with his acoustic performance.
Salt Lake City native, Michael Wine, breaks free from the ordinary with his unique and compelling use of varied musical genres. A smorgasbord of acoustic guitar, electronic drums, 80′s synthesizer and heavy metal takes the listener on a roller-coaster ride of passion, purpose, reflection and optimism, three years in the making. There’s something for everyone here, whether your comfort zone is pop, rock, heavy metal or easy listening. Michael has taken his own advice in creating this fresh and fascinating collection — not for money, not for pride or fame, but to fulfill what he feels is his purpose in this life, to bring people together through an amazing shared musical experience. What started out as physical therapy for a snowboarding wrist fracture evolved into the captivating and extremely satisfying sound of fingers on frets and soul wide open. Highway 6 – On the Festival Stage at 2:30!
Heidi and Tom (Dad) first recorded when Heidi was just 2 years old….along with sister Disa Nedreberg, the result has grown to a musical collaboration known as “Love Songs to the Desert”, an album scheduled to be released in 2009. Inspired by the landscapes of the West, and evoking the simplicity of the desert, original songs by Heidi and Tom explore life, love, longing, and loss. Joined by Tom’s long-time In Stereo bandmates Matt Rushton, Kyle Johnson, and Ted Townsend, Highway 6 is a fresh sound and a unique band chemistry – which equals moving music and a kick ass performance.
